This scenic UNESCO World Heritage railway connects Italy to Switzerland, traveling on one of Europe’s highest rail routes, reaching the 2,253-meter (7,760-foot) elevation of the Bernina Pass.

Where it departs from and arrives at
The train departs from the Italian town of Tirano, in the Valtellina valley, and arrives in St. Moritz, Engadine, Switzerland. The entire route covers about 60 km and and winds through spectacular scenery, passing viaducts, helical tunnels and breathtaking views.

Among the most iconic stages:
– Brusio Helical Viaduct, a nine-span spiral bridge that allows the train to make a 360-degree turn, a true symbol of the line
– Alp Grüm, a viewing station with a spectacular view of the Alpine panorama
– Bernina Hospice, the highest point of the line, at 2,310 meters (7,500 feet), with breathtaking views of the mountains
– Bernina Diavolezza, the station provides access to the Diavolezza, a mountain with a breathtaking view
