This scenic UNESCO World Heritage railway connects Italy to Switzerland, traveling on one of Europe’s highest rail routes, reaching the 2,253-meter (7,760-foot) elevation of the Bernina Pass.

Where it departs from and arrives at
The train departs from the Italian town of Tirano, in the Valtellina valley, and arrives in St. Moritz, Engadine, Switzerland. The entire route covers about 60 km and and winds through spectacular scenery, passing viaducts, helical tunnels and breathtaking views.

Bernina Red Train Tour from Livigno

During the summer, indicatively from early July until late August, we organize an unforgettable day trip on the Bernina Red Train, one of the most spectacular scenic railways in the world, departing directly from Livigno.

The tour is conducted with an accompanying guide for the entire day. It departs by coach from Livigno, crosses the Forcola Pass and reaches Poschiavo, Switzerland. From here you board the famous Bernina Red Train to enjoy the most scenic section of the UNESCO route to prestigious St. Moritz.

Once there, there is a free lunch and a pleasant visit to the renowned Swiss town. The tour continues by bus with a photo stop at the lakes of Silvaplana and over the scenic Maloja Pass, before returning to Livigno in the afternoon.

On some dates we also offer a reverse alternative, departing from St. Moritz and arriving in Poschiavo, to provide a different perspective on the beautiful Alpine landscape.
